Performance of substrate without aerogel and with aerogel against direct flame
The thermal tolerance of the substrate is up to 650 °C and it melts completely after 40 seconds, while the substrate with aerogel at flame temperature (about 1000 °C) remains undamaged for up to 20 minutes and retains its hydrophobicity. The thickness of the blanket is only 6 mm and it is completely flexible. The other side of the aerogel insulation can be touched after 20 minutes of heating. This type of flexible aerogel insulation is very suitable for pipelines, petrochemicals, refineries and making fireproof clothing.

Comparison of the aerogel blanket and rebar performance against blowtorch
In this video, the performance of aerogel blanket against blowtorch is shown in comparison with rebar. The rebar melts, but the aerogel blanket produced by PANDA IRogel company shows excellent performance.
